Due to the COVID-19 situation, services will be limited as the University has asked staff to work from home. All CSE/Low Vision Clinic appointments are cancelled through March 27, 2020. Staff and doctors can still be reached by email.


Low Vision Assessments conducted by optometrists are unfortunately not covered by OHIP.  However, coverage may be available through ODSP, ACSD, Veteran’s Affairs or private insurance plans. Please speak with us for more information.

Goldman Visual Field Test $90
Esterman Visual Field Test $45
Assessment for Head Mounted Devices (following a full Low Vision Assessment) $150

Form reports

$25 + HST
Basic letter $40 + HST
Customized report/letter $100 + HST

The $240 low vision assessment fee is in accordance with the Ontario Association of Optometrists’ fee guidelines and will allow us to continue to offer patients our full comprehensive services including a doctor’s assessment and access to 2 training sessions, assistive device loan program, 2 assessments on high technology, up to 6 counselling sessions and a full report.
