Saeedeh Ghaffari

Biography/research

Saeedeh Ghaffari is currently a MASc student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) department. She obtained her BASc degree in electrical engineering in 2011 at the University of Tehran, Iran. She started pursuing her Master's studies at the University of Victoria, BC, working on optical trapping of nanoparticles. She joined Silicon Thin-film Applied Research (STAR) group as a visiting scholar in May 2013 working on the amorphous selenium-based x-ray photodetectors. This piqued her interest in continuing her education at the University of Waterloo. Her research is mainly focused on the characterization and modeling of the amorphous selenium (a-Se) photodetectors.
