I am a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Waterloo.  I completed my B.Sc. in Psychology at McMaster University and my Ph.D. in Human Development at the University of Maryland-College Park. I joined the faculty at UW in July 2014.

Cali is conducting research on the association between self-referential processing and social competence in 9- to 12-year-old children and whether this association is mediated by affective theory of mind abilities.

Elaria Ebeid

Research Coordinator

Elaria holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sexuality, Marriage, and Family Studies from the University of Waterloo. She conducted her thesis under the guidance of Dr. Uzma Rehman and now serves as a Research Coordinator for the Social Development Lab and the Cognitive Development Lab. Elaria's future aspirations include pursuing graduate studies in clinical psychology with a focus on researching socio-emotional development in children and adolescents.

Linda Sosa Hernandez

Research Affiliate

Linda is a research affiliate of the Social Development Lab at the University of Waterloo. She received her MA in Developmental Psychology in 2021 at the University of Waterloo and her BSc in Biomedical Science in 2017 at the University of Guelph. Linda began the Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology program at the University Guelph in September 2022. 

McLennon Wilson

McLennon is a doctoral student in Developmental Psychology at the University of Waterloo. He completed his B.Sc. (Hons) in Psychology at the Memorial University of Newfoundland (Grenfell Campus) in April 2016.

Mya Dockrill

MA Student

Mya is a graduate student in the MA Developmental Psychology program at the University of Waterloo. She completed her B.Sc. (Hons) at Dalhousie University in 2021.

Nadine completed her Bachelor of Science in Health Studies and a minor in Psychology at the University of Waterloo. She is currently completing her MA in Developmental Psychology, co-supervised by Dr. Heather Henderson and Dr. Stephanie Denison. Her research uses mobile eye-tracking to examine parent and child problem-solving and joint attention during challenging tasks.

Sarah English

Sarah is a PhD student in Developmental Psychology at the University of Waterloo. She completed the MASc program in 2021. Sarah earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Mount Allison University in 2019, where she returned to complete her Honours Certificate in Psychology in 2020.

Serena McDiarmid

Serena McDiarmid is a fourth-year doctoral candidate and Vanier Scholar with the Social Development Lab. Serena graduated with a BSc. Hons. in Health Studies & Gerontology from UW, a BEd. from Wilfrid Laurier University's Faculty of Education, and a MASc in Developmental & Communication Science from the UW.

Sucheta Ravi

Sucheta's honours thesis aims to investigate how shyness in children affects peer perception and whether effective conversational skills in shy children serves as a protective factor when evaluated by their peers.
