Elizabeth Shantz, Knowledge Mobilization Specialist
Food for Thought CFREF Program at the University of Guelph
As Knowledge Mobilization Manager in the Research Innovation Office at University of Guelph, Elizabeth facilitates the two-way exchange of information between researchers and end users in the agri-food sector. She focuses on developing and implementing effective knowledge mobilization strategies, facilitating strong partnerships, clearly communicating knowledge, and demonstrating the impact of research.
Lois Corbett, Executive Director
Conservation Council of New Brunswick
Lois has over 30 years of experience working on environmental policy including as a Senior Policy Advisor to three Ministers of the Environment in Ontario since 2003. In previous positions, she established her own consulting practice and acted as the Executive Director at the Toronto Environmental Alliance where she helped Toronto City Council adopt its progressive Smog Action Plan, ban the use of cosmetic pesticides, develop its Climate Change Action plan and its waste diversion plan.
Travis Sztainert, Knowledge Broker
Gambling Research Exchange Ontario (GREO)
Dr. Travis Sztainert is a Knowledge Broker at GREO, a not-for-profit, intermediary Knowledge Translation and Exchange (KTE) organization. In his current role, Travis uses his knowledge and experience to provide research expertise and KTE advice to diverse stakeholder groups. He also develops syntheses of knowledge evidence, literature, tools, and other resources for GREO. Travis has co-developed and instructs the Knowledge Mobilization Certificate offered through the University of Guelph's Community Engaged Scholarship Institute.
