There are numerous opportunities to volunteer with SWIGS and network with the local water community:
- Participate in SWIGS and Water Institute events
- Volunteer with SWIGS
- Serve on our executive committee
- Contribute stories, photos, videos or blogs to our website
- Work with SWIGS to run a water-related event
Additionally, Kitchener-Waterloo has a number of organizations focused on science, technology, and water issues outreach and education. SWIGS has the benefit of bringing together researchers and graduate students from an enormous variety of disciplines and backgrounds. We feel that it’s our responsibility as water researchers to reach out to the public to entertain, inform, and ultimately bring water issues into the public eye.
We're always looking for initiatives to get involved with! If you have any ideas, please contact us.
