Water and You Art Contest 2022

We are excited to announce the return of our annual Water and You art contest, hosted entirely online, starting on Friday January 7, 2022! This contest is aimed for student in grades 4-7 in the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge Region to raise awareness amongst them regarding water challenges and the importance of water in our daily lives.

The first SWIGS event for the 2021/22 school year was a colorful meet-and-greet! (see photos)

Team SWIGS for 2021/22 school year were joined by new and existing members of SWIGS for the SWIGS Fall Welcome. The socially-distanced in-person event included terracota pots painting, colouring sheets, friendship bracelet tutorials, and delicious pizza supplied from the Graduate House. Members of the SWIGS community present connected with each other as they filled the interactive ice-breaker bingo. Filled bingo sheets were entered into a raffle draw that produced three lucky winners of SWIGS and Water Institute merch! Browse the photo gallery to visit some of the exciting memories from this event.

We are excited to announce the winners of the Water and You contest today! There were so many impressive art pieces showing understanding of "water, sanitation and hygiene" and the importance of access to safe drinking water for everyone.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2021 Water and You art contest! We received so many wonderful submissions which highlight the importance of water in our daily lives. We will be taking the time to judge these submissions over the next couple of months, but until then we invite you to check out some of the excellent submissions here:
