Following the end of the Spring 2025 term, the EdTech Steering Committee has decided not to continue licensing Creator+. This decision follows a multi-year pilot that included usage analysis, instructor/staff and student feedback (focus groups, surveys, workshops), and campus-wide input on interactive content creation.
Creator+ Pilot Concludes in the Teaching Innovation Incubator
While Creator+ offers valuable functionality, the pilot surfaced limitations affecting broader adoption, usability, and scalability. In the university's current financial climate, we must align investments with clear, sustainable value and long-term support. We will continue working with campus partners on an approach to interactive content in LEARN that is both sustainable and manageable.
What this means for you

Already using Creator+ and want to keep content as-is:Your existing Creator+ content will continue to function and can be copied between courses. It cannot be further edited. For help migrating or copying content, contact LEARN Help.

Already using Creator+ and need to modify content:Contact LEARN Help (learnhelp@uwaterloo.ca) to transition Creator+ items into an alternate, editable format. We will prioritize instructors teaching in the upcoming Winter term.

New to interactive content and want to get started:Submit a request to CEL’s Agile Development Team (ADT). Support will follow ADT’s standard intake queue.
