TQT launched the Quantum for Environment (Q4Environment) Design Challenge. The event attracted students and post-doctoral fellows from across campus to learn more about this year’s design challenge and participate in a brainstorming and team-building activity. David Cory and Tracey Forrest introduced Q4Environment, followed by a certificate presentation to the winning teams from last year’s design challenge, Quantum for Health.
Prior to brainstorming and team-building, examples of needs in the environment were highlighted by speakers from UW and NRC (see presentation) The brainstorming and team-building activity generated enthusiasm and an array of ideas. Participants suggested ideas under the following topics:
-
Climate Change
-
Earth Imaging/Explorations
-
Water
-
Oceans
-
Human Health Impacted by a Changing Environment
-
Energy
-
Natural Resources
-
Agriculture
-
Pollutants
-
Data Security
-
Finance
All ideas were later recorded in a brainstorming session document.
Thank you to all our speakers, presenters, and attendees.
