Dr. Thomas Jennewein, an associate professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, received $5 million in funding through the Alliance Consortia Quantum Grants. The project will focus on research into quantum networks and quantum communications via satellite.
Dr. Jonathan Baugh (Department of Chemistry) received $25,000 through the Alliance International Quantum funding program. Baugh’s project will focus on improved scalability of silicon quantum computing with ambipolar devices.
Dr. Na Young Kim, IQC faculty member and professor in Waterloo’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, is leading a project which has been awarded over $1 million in the Alliance Quantum Grants program.
