51st state?
Donald Trump wants Canada to be his 51st State. He isn’t the first American leader to think that way, and he won’t be the last. Dr. Norman Hillmer, one of the leading historians of the Canadian-American relationship, reflects on how Canada resisted the United States in the past, and he asks whether and how much present challenges are different from yesterday’s.
Join Dr. Norman Hillmer at the Laurier Centre for the Study of Canada (LCSC) on March 10 for his lecture.
Two ways to attend:
- In person at the LCSC, 232 King St N, Waterloo (map below)
- Register for the Zoom livestream
This event is presented in partnership with Laurier’s Faculty of Arts: Celebrating 100 Years, Department of History, and Office of Research Services.
