Dr. Matthew Hayday, chair of the History Department at the University of Guelph is delighted to announce a search for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Rural North American history. The appointment will commence on July 1, 2025.
The successful candidate will hold the Francis and Ruth Redelmeier Professorship in Rural History, supported by an endowment which generates financial support for research and student activities. This professorship is core to the growth of the University of Guelph’s reputation as a centre of excellence for rural history. The search committee encourages applications from scholars who approach the field of rural history from a diverse array of backgrounds and perspectives, employing a variety of methodologies and approaches.
