June convocation ceremonies at the three Tri-U History universities celebrated the academic achievements of several of our students and one of our professors.
Dr. Cody Groat, Graduate Gold Medal for the Doctoral Level
Dr. Cody Groat, now Assistant Professor of History and Indigenous Studies at Western University, defended his dissertation in November, 2024 at Wilfrid Laurier University. He was supervised by Dr. Susan Neylan.
Maglyn Gasteiger, Graduate Gold Medal for the Master's Level
Maglyn Gasteiger studied at Wilfrid Laurier University. She was supervised by Dr. Adam Crerar.
Gillian Wagenaar, Gold Medal Finalist Master's Level
Gillian Wagenaar, now a PhD student at the University of Waterloo, graduated with her MA in History in June, 2024. Her MA was supervised by Dr. Steven Bednarski.
Dr. Catharine Wilson, F.R.S.C., Professor Emerita
Dr. Catharine Wilson, F.R.S.C., was granted the distinction of Professor Emerita at the University of Guelph. "An international leader in history, Dr. Catharine Wilson has been a central figure for the study of rural history in Canada and has played a critical role in establishing the University of Guelph as a centre for excellence in this study."
