Research: Our lab focuses on discovering how and why vascular disease is accelerated by complex blood flow and abnormal vascular wall properties. My past research has explored new measures of vascular function (longitudinal wall motion of large arteries), exercise physiology in individuals with spinal cord injury, and the effects of exercise and exercise training on vascular and cardiac health. Most recently, we are interested in using new blood flow imaging methods to study the regulation of complex blood flow, such as fluid recirculation in arterial bifurcations and blood stasis in venous valves.

Education

  • PhD (McMaster University '17)
  • CIHR Post-doctoral Fellowship (University of Waterloo '20)

Courses

  • KIN 204: Movement Assessment and Exercise Prescription
  • KIN 407: Cardiovascular Pathophysiology

Bio: My relationship with physical activity is almost entirely sports-based and am always up for trying new activities or challenges in KW. I am an avid disc golfer and can regularly be found on the Columbia Lake course after hours. At home, I am a father of one child and two dogs and when I have time, enjoy beating most of my friends and family in their games of choice (board games, NYT mini, and sports!).
