About the speaker

Piet Klop leads PGGM’s engagement efforts around water scarcity. He is developing PGGM’s 20 billion euro​ “investing in solutions” portfolio, including impact measurement. Before joining PGGM Investments in 2011, Piet was at the World Resources Institute in Washington, DC where he initiated the Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas and held senior positions in the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in the private sector. As a water resource expert, he worked in the World Bank and United Nations. Piet holds master’s degree in Water Resources Management (Wageningen University, 1989) and Applied Environmental Economics (University of London, 1999).
