COP21 Climate Change Summit: What happened in Paris and what's next for Canada?

Join us for a panel discussion on February 1 to hear from five speakers who travelled from Waterloo Region to participate in COP21 in Paris. Whether you are just starting to be curious about climate change or already well-versed and keen to discuss the details, this event will provide a space to engage with others. 

This one day workshop will cover the phases of the construction of stormwater, wastewater, forcemains, watermains, and utility pipelines using the trenchless microtunnelling construction method. Attendees will learn the state-of-the-art of this increasing popular pipeline construction method that only requires entrance and exit shafts to install the pipe on line and on grade through a wide variety of ground conditions.

World Wetlands Day Public Lecture and Poster Session

World Wetlands Day marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on February 2, 1971 in the Iranian city of Ramsar. To celebrate World Wetlands Day the Ecohydrology Research Group invites you to join them for: 
  • a reception and poster session featuring research on wetlands and
  • a distinguished public lecture titled "Reclaiming, using, and protecting wetlands: how the Dutch created The Netherlands" by Professor Jos Verhoeven from Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
