The University Fund is allocated to expenses such as current year salary increases, benefit changes, research support funds, and a portion of Affiliated and Federated Institutions of Waterloo (AFIW) costs. Additionally, funds are made available to carry out strategic initiatives, ongoing & temporary agreements, and transition support to Faculties below the funding level prior to this new budget model.
Any strategic initiatives which are funded by the University Fund are proposed to the Strategic Budget Advisory Committee before the start of the fiscal year.
