Energy Transformation Network of Ontario (ETNO) Sprint 2 Report Available Online

Wednesday, April 20, 2022

The Energy Transformation Network of Ontario (ETNO), formerly the Ontario Smart Grid Forum, is an independent group of senior leaders from across Ontario’s utility, private, public, and non-profit sectors, working together to improve the electricity system in the province. ETNO sought to answer the question posed by the OEB, IESO, and Ontario Ministry of Energy, Northern Development and Mines: “What distribution system structures are best suited to accommodate the integration of the increased number of DERs in Ontario?”

This group has endeavored to answer the question in a new report, "Distribution System Structures for A High Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Future - A Blueprint to Guide the Local Energy Transition in Ontario". This report builds off the most recent report of the ETNO, in which ten principles were recommended to guide the transformation of the energy sector in Ontario.
