I am working on refining the design of a counterflow gradient focusing mechanism in free flow electrophoresis, with the goal of separating and collecting proteins. The aim of the design is to tackle the limitations of other free-flow electrophoresis separating methods by using a fluid velocity gradient to focus proteins at specific locations. The end goal of my research is to design a prototype and verify it’s use using real protein samples.
