Welcome to the Faculty of Environment

Attend Environment Ready Day in-person or virtually. You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Join your faculty, meet your peers and celebrate the beginning of your student life at Waterloo. 

  • Learn what to expect from your classes in September and how you can plan for a successful first year. 

  • Learn how to access resources that exist to support you!

Free event parking is available in Lots N and XLearn more about getting to and around campus.

Schedule

Time Activities
9:15 to 10 a.m. Check in and Connection Fair at Federation Hall (FED)
10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Welcome presentation and Q&A panel
12 to 2 p.m. Faculty of Environment tours
12 to 4 p.m.

Participate in drop-in activities, including:

  • Campus housing tours
  • Explore campus services
  • Complete important tasks like picking up your WatCard
1 to 2:30 p.m. BBQ and faculty social

Attending virtually?

The welcome presentation will be livestreamed from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Microsoft Townhall.

The link will be available in your Portal registration. All registered students will be sent a link to access the livestream the day before the event.

Whether you're in-person or online, encourage your parents and supporters to join.

Event accessibility

  • Morning programming: Expect to be seated for a lecture-style presentation for 2–3 hours with scheduled breaks throughout.
  • Afternoon programming: Self-directed opportunities to explore campus and complete tasks to prepare for fall.
