Women in Leadership Talk
The WiE Committee is hosting a Car Care Workshop with AutoCate, a company dedicated to educating and empowering car owners. Alongside AutoCate, participants will learn how to jump start a battery, check their oil, and learn the basic terminology of car functions. The in-person workshop is an opportunity to get some hands-on skills and leave the workshop with auto-confidence!
The Women in Engineering Committee, in collaboration with the National Society of Black Engineers, will be sitting down for a fireside chat with Ajoa Mintah, UWaterloo Chemical Engineering Graduate and owner/founder of Four All Ice Cream. We will be speaking with Ajoa about her journey as a black, female entrepreneur. Participants will have the opportunity to ask Ajoa about her experience and journey from engineering student to business owner. Register now for this exciting event!

Please join the Women in Engineering Committee as we welcome Ryan Ball, Science & Engineering Librarian, who is hosting a workshop to share what supports and services our Library has available to help you. Content will include how to build effective strategies for finding information, how to critically appraise information to ensure it's of high quality, among other topics.

Join us at the Round Table with Eva Wu and Prof Elisabeth Prince! Eva is a Structural Software Developer at ClearCalcs focusing on providing structural engineering solutions worldwide. She started her career as a building information modeller, then moved into structural consulting, designing a wide variety of institutional buildings, including community centers, sports stadiums, and educational buildings. Elisabeth Prince is a polymer scientist. She joined the University of Waterloo as an Assistant Professor in January 2023. Her lab is building on her expertise in polymer and materials science to design polymer networks for healthcare and sustainability.

Join the Women in Engineering Graduate Committee for a trail walk around Columbia Lake on Wednesday, July 12th to meet fellow engineering students. Snacks and refreshments will be provided for the walk. We will meet at 5:30pm in the main foyer of Engineering 7 and will take the bus to Westmount Sports Park. Please remember to bring your Watcard for the bus. Register in advance so we know to expect you!
Please join the Women in Engineering Graduate and Faculty Committees for a picnic in the Grad House Green Space on August 16th from 12pm-2pm. There will be music, outdoor games, food and a chance to win prizes! This is a great opportunity to connect with fellow women engineering students and faculty to enjoy the summer weather!
