Dissertation Boot Camp starts this week! . 

Both in-person and online options are available. We are excited to announce that this will be the WCC's first in-person Dissertation Boot Camp in two years. Make progress on your thesis or dissertation in a supportive community today!

Join us on June 30 for our next session of the IBPOC Writing Café from 5:00-7:00 pm. The IBPOC Writing Café is a space where graduate students identifying as Indigenous, Black, and people of colour can come together to form a supportive community of writers. This is an intentional IBPOC-only space. You can join the IBPOC writing groups channel through WCC’s Teams.

The ECC program offers a place to share resources, tell stories, and practice everyday communication. Make new friends and join the conversation at our English Conversation Circles on Fridays from 9:30-10:30 am and Wednesdays from 3:00-4:00 pm.

Registration for English Conversation Circles is now open!

This six-week online program provides a safe space for English Language Learners (ELL) to practice conversational English with friendly staff and students. ECC meets Tuesdays 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm and Wednesdays 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm from Monday, May 2nd 2022

Did you know that the WCC offers support for GRADflix participants? Our Multimodal and Public Scholarship Program Developer, Elise Vist, works with participants in one-to-one appointments to support them in developing impactful videos that showcase their research. This year Elise had the pleasure of working with both the People’s Choice award winner, Maria Bernadette Bataglia, and 4^th place winner, Mariam Gad on their award-winning videos.

Although the title might sound intimidating, Dissertation Boot Camps – as they are known at university campuses across North America – are meant to be friendly, supportive programs that offer graduate students the time and space they need to work on their theses or dissertations. These programs were developed to help writers get on with the daunting task of writing and make real progress towards finishing a graduate degree.
