What are English Conversation Circles? A few months ago, I had no idea, but when I started working at the Writing and Communication Centre (WCC) one of my roles was to facilitate the English Conversation Circles (ECC) program. I assumed ECC would be a program that Individuals used to strengthen their English conversation skills, and I was excited to be a part of this support team. Once I started working on the program, I learned quickly that ECC is a support system for international students here at UW.

We're so impressed with the brand-new student-run Journal of Undergraduate Health Research (JUHR) here at UWaterloo, which was founded by two undergraduates. The journal aims to give peer-reviewed publication opportunities to undergraduates in any health-related field. We're thrilled to be able to support JUHR by providing workshops for both the editorial team and for student authors.

Hey undergrads! Are you stuck on a draft and need some feedback? Working to a deadline but can’t book an appointment at the WCC?  We’re here for you with our email tutoring service. Get feedback over email on your papers, reports, resumes and cover letters, presentation slides, or any other writing or communication assignments! Available Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Have you ever wondered how to use Twitter to talk about your research, or how to make your presentation pop? Did you know that we have an advisor who specializes in teaching University of Waterloo students to do exactly this kind of thing?  The Writing and Communication Centre's Multimodal and Public Scholarship Program Developer, Elise Vist (they/them) is a specialist in all things related to multimodal and public scholarship.
