Breaking Assumptions: What I Learned About ECC From Being a Facilitator
What are English Conversation Circles? A few months ago, I had no idea, but when I started working at the Writing and Communication Centre (WCC) one of my roles was to facilitate the English Conversation Circles (ECC) program. I assumed ECC would be a program that Individuals used to strengthen their English conversation skills, and I was excited to be a part of this support team. Once I started working on the program, I learned quickly that ECC is a support system for international students here at UW.
Upcoming Conference Presentations by WCC Fulltime and Student Staff
Our fulltime and student staff will be busy in the next few months sharing about programs and initiatives we've been undertaking recently with students and faculty.
Come see us present these sessions at the University of Waterloo Teaching and Learning Conference on April 27 and 28:
Writing Op-Eds Workshop
This workshop will teach you strategies to engage your audience, structure your argument, and integrate analysis into your op-ed to help you craft a piece that is both persuasive and exciting for your audience to read.

Collaboration with the new Journal of Undergraduate Health Research!
We're so impressed with the brand-new student-run Journal of Undergraduate Health Research (JUHR) here at UWaterloo, which was founded by two undergraduates. The journal aims to give peer-reviewed publication opportunities to undergraduates in any health-related field. We're thrilled to be able to support JUHR by providing workshops for both the editorial team and for student authors.
