2022 GRADflix support

Did you know that the WCC offers support for GRADflix participants? Our Multimodal and Public Scholarship Program Developer, Elise Vist, works with participants in one-to-one appointments to support them in developing impactful videos that showcase their research. This year Elise had the pleasure of working with both the People’s Choice award winner, Maria Bernadette Bataglia, and 4th place winner, Mariam Gad on their award-winning videos.

Have you ever wondered how to use Twitter to talk about your research, or how to make your presentation pop? Did you know that we have an advisor who specializes in teaching University of Waterloo students to do exactly this kind of thing?  The Writing and Communication Centre's Multimodal and Public Scholarship Program Developer, Elise Vist (they/them) is a specialist in all things related to multimodal and public scholarship.

Speak like a Scholar Applications Open

Applications for Speak Like a Scholar are open today! This six-week online program is designed to help Master's and PhD students develop their professional scholarly voices and learn to give effective academic presentations with confidence. Get hands-on practice with oral presentations and recieve direct feedback from our writing and communication advisors.
