A team of Master of Business Entrepreneurship and Technology (MBET) students is one of five finalist groups that will compete in the RBC Next Great Innovator Challenge being held January 17 at RBC's Toronto headquarters. The students will present to a senior panel of RBC executives and the winning team will receive $24,000.

The teams each created a video responding to this year's challenge question: "Suggest an innovative concept that will enable RBC's businesses to use big data to create a competitive advantage."

"Team RBC+ is thrilled to have been named a finalist in the RBC Next Great Innovator Challenge," says Aleesha Babineau, an MBET team member. "We believe we have developed a comprehensive solution for RBC that will enable the company to leverage their existing brand to create a competitive advantage through socially responsible investments. We believe in our proposed solution and are eager to pitch to the RBC panel!”

This is not the first time MBET students have been selected as finalists for this challenge. In RBC's 2011 competition, three of MBET teams placed first, second, and third, while in 2012, an MBET teams placed first.
