Welcome to the Student Service Centre

Whether you are a new student stopping by to pick up your WatCard for the first time, a current student with questions about how to enrol in courses, or an alum requesting a duplicate diploma, we are here to help you. The Centre is your go-to place for many administrative and financial needs. If we don't know the answer to your question, we are happy to direct you to someone who can help.

  • Financial inquiries (e.g., OSAP, other provincial funding, awards and bursaries, scholarships, work-study, emergency loans, tuition fees, promissory notes, tax receipts, paying/removing holds, UHIP)
  • Official documents (e.g., transcripts, letter of enrolment, diplomas, CPP form)
  • Quest course enrolment (e.g., course overrides, course registration questions, transfer credits)
  • Record updates (e.g., name change, plan modification, residency changes) Note: You can also email these forms to askthecentre@uwaterloo.ca.
  • Service Canada (e.g.,  issuing and renewing SINs on select dates)
  • WatCard (e.g., pick up your WatCard, request replacement card, general inquiries etc.) 

  1. May 16, 2024Trouble shooting for Quest log in issues

    If you are having issues logging in to Quest and seeing either a "username/password is invalid" error or “Bad Request – Header Field Too Long HTTP Error 400” message but can still log into other services such as WatIAM, Learn or Outlook you will need to fully clear your browsing data. We've included some helpful instructions below, based on your browser of choice.

    Please note that these instructions should be completed with no active browser windows that are on any uwaterloo.ca affiliated websites.

    Service Canada representatives will be in The Centre issuing and renewing SINs for Waterloo students.

    Clinics take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. To book an appointment; drop by The Centre, call 519-888-4567, ext. 42268, or book online via Portal (available beginning at noon, the day prior to the appointment). 

  3. May 1, 2024Receiving OSAP in spring 2024

    When will I receive my spring 2024 OSAP funding?

    Student Awards & Financial Aid will automatically confirm your enrolment electronically with the Ministry of Colleges and Universities. Your OSAP funding will be applied to your student account to pay down your fees owing and/or sent directly to you starting in May. This process will continue regularly throughout the term.
