AHS Computing

Welcome to Applied Health Sciences Computing (AHS Computing). We are committed to providing Information Technology (IT) support to faculty, staff, and students in Applied Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo.

On this site, we offer information about your accounts, e-mail, printing, software, VPN and other services. You will also find notes from the many courses that we have taught on all aspects of computing.

  1. Sept. 16, 2016New online SAS service in AHS

We have a new server-based installation of SAS in AHS that is available for AHS faculty, staff and students to use.

This service allows you to access the power of SAS through a browser on your personal or a lab computer.

Visit SAS in AHS to find out if this service is right for you or contact AHS Computing.

  2. Mar. 9, 2016It's fiscal year end - be wary of fake invoices

With the fiscal year end approaching, many of us are expecting invoices but we need to be wary because there has been an increase in the number of emails with fake invoice attachments. If you open these attachments, you will inflict serious/irreparable harm on your computer system and the data that you access.

  3. Nov. 17, 2015Outdated Adobe Acrobat Pro for Windows software needs to be updated

AHS Computing keeps track of software installed on University-owned machines deployed in our faculty. The results of the latest inventory reveal an unsettling number of Windows machines with old versions of Adobe Acrobat Professional, specifically version 10. This is a problem.
