The Faculty of Arts at the University of Waterloo initiated Arts AI in 2025 to showcase how it is managing change related to AI disruption in thoughtful, bold, and inclusive ways. Arts AI is a platform for the Faculty of Arts to demonstrate leadership in the integration of Generative AI into higher education.
This initiative supports the development of courses, curriculum, pedagogical training, research opportunities, and provides a forum for listening to the Arts community as we navigate the ever-changing impacts of AI on our students, instructors, researchers, staff, and administrators.
