Public Talk at Kitchener Public Library (Central): Mapping the Dark Universe with the Euclid Satellite
The new WCA-KPL Astronomy Talk series takes place on the last Wednesday of each month, and is jointly organized by the Waterloo Centre for Astrophysics and KPL.
Dark matter and dark energy drive the growth of our Universe, but the true nature of this strange "dark Universe" is still a mystery to scientists. Join us to hear Dr. Will Percival from the Waterloo Centre for Astrophysics, University of Waterloo speak about the Euclid satellite, due to launch in July 2023. Euclid will attempt to map out and explore our Universe, and help us to understand dark matter and dark energy like never before!
