Waterloo Engineering Innovation (WE Innovate) is the year's biggest showcase of Waterloo Engineering innovation. The school's world class researchers displayed emerging research in engineering - cutting edge technology that will shape the world of tomorrow. Boyd Panton, Andrew Pequegnat and Andrew Michael, the innovators that make up the Medical, Smart Materials and Microwelding research group, took top honours, winning the Best Exhibit Research Award for their presentation of their fundamental development of smart material and joining technologies and their application in industry with their research partner Smarter Alloys.
