Research Projects

Resistance spot welding (RSW) of advanced high strength steels (AHSS)

Advance high strength steel (AHSS) are implemented to help produce lightweight vehicles which ultimately results in better fuel efficiency. Resistance spot welding (RSW) is being investigated in order to identify the effect of different variables on achieving an acceptable weld using AHSS. The process, microstructure and mechanical properties of welds will be examined in order to produce a welding schedule that will satisfy industrial needs.
