Description

This student will work on the synthesis and characterization of various nanomaterials, such as metallic and oxide nanowires, special for the application on microelectronic packaging, solar photovoltaic devices and innovative nanowire membrane technology for water treatment. The student has the chance to work with one of our industrial partners, like Microbonds Inc., RIM, Celestica, GE membrane solution. The related collaboration may help to secure a job in these companies.

This student will work in well equipped Centre of Advanced Materials Joining (CAMJ), department of machanical and mechatronics engineering, University of Waterloo under the supervision of Professor Y. Norman Zhou and Professor Anming Hu.

Requirements

  • University degree on nanotechnology, materials science and engineering, applied physics, and chemical engineering.
  • The combined Bachelor/Master’s beginning with a working term in the spring term is highly welcome.
  • The Canadians and landing immigrants have priority to be considered.
