Most of you already know what the Centre for Pavement and Transportation Technology (CPATT) is, but for those of you who are unfamiliar, here is some basic information:
CPATT was featured in the Quebec Magazine Constas. The article entitled "smart carriageways and self-healing materials" discussed projects underway at CPATT. Dr. Hassan Baaj was interviewed for the article.
On May 18th Partners in Research Canada visited Susan Tighe in the CPATT laboratory to participate in a PIR live event webcast. During this webcast Susan discussed current research themes such as greening roads for sustainability, improving recycling, climate change, designs to mitigate natural disasters, innovative and new designs, and long life pavements.
The 2015/2016 PIR live event drew participation from over 750 elementary and secondary school classrooms from coast to coast and 25 academic institutions and organizations across Canada participated in the live events.

Susan Tighe received the 2014 Academic Merit Award at the 2014 Transportation Association of Canada Conference & Exhibition held in Montreal, QC, from September 28 - October 1, 2014.
The Award of Academic Merit is awarded to people that have made a long-term contribution to the advancement of the academic field and to the development of tomorrow's transportation leaders

Congratulations to Janki Bhavsar, MASc Candidate on receiving the Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship. Janki is a graduate student involved with CPATT and we are very proud of her for this achievement.
Congratulations to Gulfam Jannat on receiving a civil and environmental engineering department scholarship for Fall term 2014. Gulfam received this award for her academic progress outlined in her Activity Report.
On Friday November 14th, some of the CPATT graduate students were hard at work transporting aggregates into bins to place in the CPATT Test Track trailer. Thank you to all the student's that participated.
