About Theatre of the Beat
Founded in 2011 and based in Stouffville, ON, Theatre of the Beat is a travelling theatre company that tries its darnedest to create thought-provoking theatre to educate, challenge and inspire a diversity of communities on socially relevant topics. Johnny Wideman is the founder and Artistic Director of Theatre of the Beat. He studied Drama at the University of Waterloo and the University of Sussex where he focused on politically oriented theatre and practitioners. Johnny is inspired to write works which address social issues and philosophical dilemmas, hoping he can provoke and empower audiences.
