Excerpts taken from article posted on the School of Accounting and Finance website from June 3, 2025.

Congratulations to Professor James Thompson, School of Accounting and Finance (SAF) professor and co-director of the Computing and Financial Management program, for receiving a 2025 Arts Award for Excellence in Service.

Thompson is deeply versed in corporate finance and is committed to guiding his students toward success. His dedication to the broader business community is equally inspiring — his research has informed the teachings of numerous universities and financial institutions.

This award honours individuals who have demonstrated exemplary service and leadership in their field over the past five years. Thompson’s evident devotion to his work and students has left a lasting mark on the SAF community.

We are exciting to celebrate Professor Thompson for this outstanding achievement!

His award will be presented this fall at the Celebration of Arts event. Recipients are selected by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Alexie Tcheuyap, and the Arts Honours and Awards committee.
