Dr. Bergsieker won the 2019 Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Women of the Year Award in the STEAM category, recognizing excellence in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. The awards committee noted that "She is not only a scientist herself, but she uses her scientific work to increase the success and participation of other women in science.

Congratulations to graduate students Erik Jansen, Harrison Oakes, and Sherman Kwok for receiving Ontario Graduate Scholarships!

OGS awards are merit-based scholarships promoting excellence in graduate studies in all disciplines of academic study.

The UW Gender Equity Research Grants support research that investigates and addresses gender equity, and in particular projects that demonstrate relevance to Waterloo or that advance Waterloo's three IMPACT 10x10x10 commitments (i.e., boosting girls’ participation in STEM  experiences to build future female leaders, enhancing  female faculty representation to drive toward parity in the future, and advancing women into positions that  lead the university).

This grant will support the Excellence and Gender Equity in Science and Technology (EGEST) conference organized by Dr. Fehr and Dr. Bergsieker in September 2018.

Connection Grants support events and outreach activities geared toward short-term, targeted knowledge mobilization initiatives. These events and activities represent opportunities to exchange knowledge and to engage on research issues of value to those participating.
