38. Fossil Coral Colony Favosites

Favosites coral, sedimentary rock, Arkona, Ontario. Southern Ontario was part of a warm, shallow, salt sea now called the Michigan Basin. The basin was filled with a variety of sedimentary rocks including sandstone, shale, limestone, salt and gypsum. A variety of animals flourished here including corals, seashells and fish.
