Bhaleka attends the Canadian Polar Data Workshop VI
Bhaleka Persaud, Research Data Management Specialist with the Global Water Futures Observatories (GWFO) and ERG, presented research at the Canadian Polar Data Workshop VI in Waterloo, Ontario. The workshop brought together participants to discuss polar data, information, and knowledge management, covering topics such as Indigenous data sovereignty, FAIR data, data ethics, remote sensing, ocean and life science data, and knowledge mobilization. Bhaleka presented a talk titled “Evaluating Open Access and Data Availability in Canadian Arctic Scholarship,” which examined trends in open access publishing and research data sharing across Canadian Arctic peer reviewed literature. This collaborative work involved researchers from the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University.
