The COREH Consortium meets in Uppsala

Monday, September 30, 2019

The Cold Regions Ecohydrogeology (COREH) consortium's second workshop was held on September 28, 29 and 30, hosted by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Uppsala, Sweden. The workshop brought together researchers from Canada, China, France, Russia and Sweden. A major part of the 3-day workshop was devoted to discussing and preparing the first draft of a joint review paper on the current state of knowledge on cold region critical zone processes. The participants also got the opportunity to visit some of SLU’s experimental field sites. The Ecohydrology Research Group (ERG) was represented by Fereidoun Rezanezhad, Philippe Van Cappellen, and former ERG member Christina Smeaton, now at Memorial University of Newfoundland. On Monday September 30, Philippe also gave a Focus on Soils & Water (FoSW) lunch seminar entitled Soil Respiration: A Geochemist’s Perspective. The lunch seminars are organized by the FoSW Graduate Research School at SLU.
