From May 31st to June 6th, Ecohydrology Research Group members Christina Lam, Noelle Starling, Sam Smith and Kayla Martin attended the 27th annual Waterloo Wellington Children’s Groundwater Festival at Marden Park in Guelph. The festival brought together the expertise of educators, groundwater specialists and members from industries, conservation, governmental and educational organizations to provide children with the opportunity to learn about water and its importance to our lives and communities. Through over 50 hands on activities, children in grades 2-5 were empowered with the knowledge to initiate change within their homes, schools and communities. ERG groups members ran several of these activities with the support of the Earth Sciences Museum, including the 3D Sandbox, Porosity & permeability and Wetlands.
