Ecohydrology research group student awarded Senior Undergraduate Science Research Award

Tara Ferguson has been awarded the Senior Undergraduate Science Research Award from the Faculty of Science Foundation. The award is given to undergraduate students in the Faculty of Science for outstanding research outcomes in senior undergraduate science research courses.

Tara received the award for her work in BIOL499, where she conducted soil column experiments to quantify methane oxidation capacity in CAAF landfill soils under the supervision of Dr. Fereidoun Rezanezhad. This project contributes to advancing our understanding of methanotrophic microbial communities and their role in enhancing landfill cover soil performance.
