Ecohydrology Research Group MSc student Erin Griffiths successfully defended her thesis on June 10, 2024 in a virtual defence. Erin's thesis is titled "Degradation of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) and Polyamide (PA) in Urban Stormwater Ponds". Her research was supported by the NSERC Alliance grant “Plastics science for a cleaner future” program to the project: “Microplastics Fingerprinting at the watershed scale: from sources to receivers” and the Global Water Futures program.
Erin was supervised by Dr. Philippe Van Cappellen (Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences and Ecohydrology Research Group), and the committee included Dr. Fereidoun Rezanezhad (Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences and Ecohydrology Research Group) and Dr. Roland Hall (Department of Biology) and Dr. John Honek (Department of Chemistry).
