Fereidoun attends the Landscape Carbon Workshop
ERG member Fereidoun Rezanezhad participated in the Landscape Carbon Workshop, held on February 4-6 in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. This workshop brought together Landscape Carbon experts, Indigenous representatives, key government officials, and nature-based solution leaders to help developing a collaborative five-year roadmap for managing Landscape Carbon in the Northwest Territories and exploring nature-based solutions by enhancing the collaborations and knowledge sharing and capacity building.
In this workshop, Fereidoun presented a talk on “The Future of NWT Carbon Stocks: Winter Carbon Cycling“, and highlighted the importance of the winter non-growing season as a critical period for carbon cycling in northern permafrost and peatland ecosystems.
