Global Peatland Initiative host series of virtual workshops

From September to November the University of Waterloo’s Water Institute, in collaboration with the United Nations’ Environment Programme 'Global Peatland Initiative' (UNEP GPI), hosted three virtual workshops to bringing together 150 Canadian peatland researchers, government officials, private sector representatives and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). An important part of the discussions centered on how to generate a national inventory of peatland in Canada. ERG members Philippe Van Cappellen and Fereidoun Rezanezhad participated in the discussions and led breakout groups during the workshops. For further information on the workshop, please click here.
