The July 2018 edition of Science of the Total Environment includes a new publication by researchers of the Ecohydrology Research Group!
The publication, by Zahra Akbarzadeh, Anniet M. Laverman, Fereidoun Rezanezhad, Mélanie Raimonet, Eric Viollier, Babak Shafei, and Philippe Van Cappellen is titled "Benthic nitrite exchanges in the Seine River (France): An early diagenetic modeling analysis". Nitrite is a toxic intermediate in the nitrogen cycle. Elevated concentrations of nitrite have been observed in the Seine River. Together with French colleagues, we have assessed the role of river sediments as a potential source or sink of nitrite, using a reactive transport model.
