Olivia attends the CanCH4 symposium

ERG co-op student Olivia Penn attended the CanCH4 symposium on May 20-21 at Carleton University in Ottawa. The event showcased the latest methane research, key trends in monitoring, and technological developments under the theme “Methane by the Numbers”, to help advance methane science and foster mitigation action. Students, researchers, and industry professionals from across Canada and internationally gathered to share their most recent findings. Olivia presented a research poster titled “Landfill cover soil methane removal and microbial community composition response to applied rainfall in experimental soil columns” that highlighted results from soil column incubation experiments as part of the University of Waterloo’s CAAF Mitigation of Methane Hot-spots from Landfills project.
