Shengde defends his PhD thesis!

Ecohydrology Research Group PhD student Shengde Yu successfully defended his thesis on September 11, 2025. Shengde's thesis is titled "Integrated analysis of global lakes and reservoirs: Global reservoirs modeling database, climate-driven changes in thermal stratification, depth-area-volume relationships, dam operation, and downstream phosphorus export". 

Shengde was supervised by Dr. Philippe Van Cappellen (Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences and Ecohydrology Research Group). The committee included Dr. Andrea Brookfield (Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences), Dr. Chris Parsons (Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences), Dr. Nandita Basu (Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences), Dr. Helen Jarvie (Department of Geography and Environmental Management), and Dr. Karl-Erich Lindenschmidt (University of Saskatchewan).
