Philippe Van Cappellen joined a delegation of the Water Institute to China. The delegation held talks with researchers and officials from Wuhan University, China University of Geosciences, Southwest University, Chongqing University, China Research Academy of Environmental Sciences (CRAES) and Hohai University.
The discussions centered on how to strengthen existing and develop new collaborations in water science and technology between Water Institute members and Chinese partners.
The delegation also participated in the 1st China–Canada Water Environment Workshop in Hangzhou organized by CRAES and Environment Canada. Philippe presented research on the ecohydrological impacts of river damming and the fate and transport of contaminants in subsurface environments.
