Visitor safety

New emergency notification system for visitors

Each year, UWaterloo welcomes thousands of guests, including guest lecturers, politicians, toddlers in daycare, alumni, parents, contractors and co-op employers. To ensure their safety—along with the entire campus community—Regroup Mobile offers a temporary notification service. This allows visitors to receive any emergency notifications via SMS and email.

Information for visitors

If you are visiting a UWaterloo campus for a specific period of time, or someone you care about is going to be a guest on our campuses, please take a moment to register to receive emergency notifications from Regroup.

Examples of who might use Regroup's visitor emergency notifications include:

  • External contractors
  • Parents of children in daycare
  • Participants in academic conferences
  • Parents of graduate or undergraduate students
  • And more...

For UWaterloo staff and faculty managing campus visitors

We encourage those welcoming visitors to campus for a specific time period to integrate the ENS visitor sign-up link into event planning, visitor communications, and daily work involving guests. For reference please bookmark the visitor emergency notification system webform.

Employees may order and place posters with a QR code to the sign-up page in high-visibility areas like ticketing booths, lobbies, or common spaces.
