Dr. Kelton Adderley-Heron is a Post-Doctoral Scholar within the Wildlife Ecohydrology and Conservation Lab. Kelton is a doctoral graduate of McMaster University, where he studied turtle movement and behaviour using multi-sensor biologgers.
His current research largely focuses on freshwater turtle ecology and conservation, with an emphasis on understanding how turtle populations interact with dynamic and changing landscapes. His work combines animal movement, spatial ecology, and habitat assessment to understand how turtles use wetland and upland habitats and how these habitats can be effectively managed. Current projects include investigating the spatial ecology and habitat selection of Blanding’s turtles within protected areas and examining the recovery of freshwater turtle nesting habitat following wildfire.
