Amar Laila is a postdoctoral fellow in the School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability. He is a social scientist with a background in behavioural nutrition and food systems justice and transformation. Amar's PhD research explored the connection between food literacy and food waste among Canadian families with young children, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative methods. At the Stockholm Resilience Centre, Sweden, Amar was one of the post-doctoral fellows on the EAT-Lancet 2.0 Commission on food system justice and sustainability, where he contributed to Justice and Transformation. His current post-doctoral research focuses on using a food systems approach to improve healthy and sustainable food intake for all, and for marginalized groups in particular.
